Inspiring the next generation of cricket umpires…
The Russ Evans Foundation is focused on getting more young people involved in cricket umpiring by working with cricketing schools and cricket clubs to provide inspiration, equipment, training and mentoring to young people who want to try umpiring.
This year we aim to train more than 75 young umpires which of course, all costs money. This event is a vital fund raiser and promises great food and entertainment in return for your support.
Former Nottinghamshire and Surrey run machine, Darren Bicknell, will host what promises to be a fun evening amongst Russell’s friends, family and fellow cricket lovers.
Please join us at the magnificent Trent Bridge and enjoy the sumptuous food, raise a glass in memory of our great friend, whilst helping us to raise money for this great cricketing initiative.
Guest Speaker
Former Lancashire star Steve O’Shaughnessy and now ECB first class umpire is one of the most natural and entertaining after dinner speakers in cricket.
The ex-all-rounder, who played for Lancashire between 1980 and 1987, has been a full-time umpire on the county circuit since 2011. He has some fantastic insights into the professional game and very funny anecdotes.
Auction
There will also be an online auction with some great cricket related items and memorabilia kindly donated from people in the game who knew Russ and want to support this fantastic charity. This auction will be open to everyone, not just people who attend the dinner. Keep an eye out on the foundation website and B3 Cricket social media for updates on this.
