Local boy Dawson Willcock is less than 2 years old and having to fight a rare liver cancer. Unfortunately recently Dawson and his family were given the devastating news that his chemotherapy had stopped working and the tumours were getting bigger. For Dawson and his family the only option they have now is to go to the USA for specialist treatment for which they need to raise at least £500,000.
North Nottinghamshire based Blidworth Colliery Welfare CC, held a fund raising day for Dawson and B3 were pleased to support this fantastic event. It was also great to see Nott’s CCC stars supporting the event. Samit Patel, Luke Wood, Mark Footitt and former player turned coach, Paul Franks, all played in an entertaining T20 match to raise dollars for Dawson.
Our MD, Michael Blatherwick, went along to donate a B3 bat for a raffle which boosted the fund raising efforts. Michael (centre) is pictured presenting the bat to a couple of his old adversaries from his playing days against Blidworth – David Donaldson (left) and Ritchie Gibbons (right) who helped to organise the day.
A top effort by all involved and let’s try and get this amazingly courageous young man the money he needs. If you can afford to donate, please do so:
