B3 at the BA County Cricket Festivals 2023

September 1, 2023

Throughout August, we supported some of the best up and coming young players at the BA County Cricket Festivals.

Brian Sullivan and his partner Jo organise the festivals in the magnificent facilities provided by Barnard Castle School and Raby Castle Cricket Ground. There are three age groups across separate weeks throughout August.

Week One: Under 15’s

Week one had an international flavour with country teams from Wales, Ireland, and the Netherlands joining Middlesex, Suffolk, Northants, Kent Invicta, Cambridgeshire and two Cleveland sides who all played each other across the first four days with finals on Friday. The main final was between Northants and Cricket Ireland, with the Irish coming out on top as the Festival Champions.

Week Two: Under 14’s

The U14’s teams from Wales, Netherlands, Cleveland, Middlesex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire, Bedfordshire, Cumbria and Northumberland play each other. The Friday final was contested between Middlesex and Cambridge but had to be declared a tie due to rain making it impossible to finish the game.

Week Three: Under 13’s

In the final week, the U13’s teams from Wales, Netherlands, Cleveland, Middlesex, Suffolk, Bedfordshire, Kent Invicta, and Durham had a fantastic time. The final was contested between Kent Invicta and Bedfordshire, with the Kent boys claiming victory.

The B3 ‘Pop Up’ Shop

Each week, we made the journey north from Nottingham to set up the B3 gazebo laden with a full range of fantastic bats, pads, gloves and luggage suitable for the week’s specific age group. It was great to meet both the players, their parents and team coaches and discuss our favourite topics!

B3 Custom Bat Winners!

For each festival, we provided the best overall batter and bowler with a voucher, which could be redeemed against a B3 belter of bat. The winners will receive the ‘full pro treatment’ for which we are famous.

They have been invited to visit the factory in person, or if they live too far away, one of our cricket bat experts will discuss it over the phone or Zoom and ensure we get the correct bat shape, size and weight.

Finally, the players will get to pick their favourite sticker and grip combo, and their dream B3 belter will be delivered to their door. Our aim will be to ensure they have a cricket bat that maximises their potential in their cricketing futures.

A final thank you to Brian and Jo for the opportunity and to the young players, parents, and coaches for their enthusiasm for what we do here at B3 Cricket.
